Sunday Mornings
Ken Dennis facilitates discussion about topics that are relevant to the everyday lives of teenagers. The study meets at 9:30 am in the CYF room upstairs in the gym. In addition to the good conversation the students are treated to donuts.
Focus 824
Focus is a bible study for high schoolers that takes place every Wednesday from 7-8 pm at Starbucks on Echo Lane right across from Memorial High School. We are in the middle of a study about how to read the bible for all it's worth.
Chi Rho
Grades 6-8
Sunday Mornings
Chi Rho Sunday School also meets at 9:30 a.m. upstairs in the gym. We are currently studying about the life of Jesus from the book of Luke.
Wednesday Nights
Middle school students get together in the youth room for a time of fun and the word on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm. This is a great time to get to know one another and draw closer to the Lord. Right now the students are getting to know Christ more intimately based on his actions while on earth.
CYF and Chi Rho Activities
Catalyst
Catalyst is a concert event that takes place once a month at a local coffee shop, Kaleidoscoops on Eldridge. You can hear local bands from in and around Houston and hang out sipping coffee and eating ice cream. Come check it out and bring your friends.
Summer Camps
Memorial Drive Christian Church youth, both CYF and Chi Rho participate in grade-specific summer camp programs conducted by the Coastal Plains Area and held at the Disciples Conference Center in Gonzales, TX.
Youth Rallies
During the school year, Memorial Drive youth participate in several weekend youth rallies sponsored by the Coastal Plains Area held at the Disciples Conference Center or at various churches. Each of these rallies includes worship and fellowship; some rallies are focused on service projects.
Service and Mission
Our youth participate in a yearly Mission trip, as well as service and mission projects in and around the Houston area.
