Memorial Drive Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a growing, active, and vital congregation conveniently located in the Memorial Villages of West Houston. There are five characteristics that describe Memorial Drive Christian Church.

Belief in Study and Exploration of Scripture

We are a church that believes in study and exploration of Scripture. At the center of who we are and how we understand ourselves is the Word of God. We offer classes and studies in both the Old and New Testament. We believe that an active Christian life, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, is understood by studying the connectedness of God's relationship throughout the ages. A strong foundation in the Old Testament creates a fuller understanding of the New Testament. To promote Biblical knowledge and awareness, we offer Bible study on Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday morning and afternoon. We also provide special programs through out the year, including a discussion of theological issues in film and television, and other educational events.

Church For All
We are a church for all ages. As a church we believe in the strength of families. We have recently experienced tremendous growth in our young families with small children. However, we also recognize that the word "family" takes on many shapes and sizes. We are a church filled with traditional family units. We are a church with a growing number of families who are caring for aging parents in their homes. We are a church of single adults who find family through their relationships and support groups with each other. We are a church of families with members who are differently abled. We are a church of diverse families, and we welcome you into our family of faith. There are many programs and ministries of the church to support families of all forms, ages, and sizes in the church.
Mission Driven Church
We are a mission driven church. Our prayerfully discerned mission for our church is to be an alternate sign and foretaste of the coming Kingdom of God that seeks to nurture the spiritual development of our members through education, hands-on ministry, and leadership development. We live this out through our Christian Education Program, Community Ministries, and by welcoming new members into the leadership and life of the church.
Outreach Minded Congregation
We are an outreach minded congregation. Our church is involved with many community ministries which seek to alleviate poverty, hunger, and homelessness, while ensuring the dignity of the persons served. Each Thursday evening we work with homeless teens and young adults, providing food, clothing, and mentoring. Many of our members volunteer at Memorial Assistance Ministries, which seeks to serve the under employed of our community and assist with emergencies. We actively support three food pantries and engage ourselves on a regular basis with opportunities for hands-on mission and ministry.
Regional Church
We are a regional church. Even though our zip code is 77024, our active membership lives in the Memorial Villages, the Energy Corridor of West Houston, Cinco Ranch, Jersey Village, Fulshear, New Territory, Sugar Land, First Colony, the Galleria Area, the Heights, Kingwood, and even as far away as Willis. As a result, Sunday is church day - a day in which we gather for worship, Sunday school, Bible study, youth programs, church meetings, choir practice, fellowship events, and congregational celebrations. One of our core commitments is helping people develop a sense of identity in a world that pushes us in many directions. As a church, we feel a responsibility to help our members manage their family lives by scheduling church activities with consideration for their time, family life, and geographic diversity.
